As an admissions committee member, Randi focused on giving every application a thorough and thoughtful reading and evaluation.
Evaluating such a high volume of applicants also helped Randi understand the spectrum of factors that admissions committees at highly selective institutions look at when making admission decisions. Sarah’s direct admissions experience comes from working at her alma mater, Pomona College. As a liberal arts college student, she studied many disciplines, but focused on Politics, Anthropology, History, Economics, French, and Art.
Sarah was a Sponsor in the Pomona sponsor program, studied abroad in Tanzania, and was a leader in the Challah for Hunger club. She also worked in the admissions office, interviewing prospective applicants.
Sarah enjoyed meeting high schoolers interested in Pomona so much that she returned years later, after a few years of working in the international development space. When she worked in admissions, Sarah was a liaison with several athletics coaches, visited high schools in CA, CO, CT, ME, NC, NH, NY, SC, VT, and worked with several college access programs for first generation college students.
Sarah read applications from students all over the world and advocated for applicants in highly selective decision committees. Since leaving her role at Pomona, Sarah has worked in an education management non-profit and received her MBA from the Yale School of Management. At Quad Education, she uses her familiarity with the selection process to work with individuals and groups of high school students, offering guidance and support through their college application experience.
Originally from NC, Sarah is an (often disappointed) Carolina Panthers fan and lover of good food. She fills her free time with runs, hikes, crosswords, and travel.

Sarah has a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA. Additionally, she has also served as an admissions reader for UCLA. Through her time reading application documents, she learned that every student is unique and has a story to tell. This experience also gave her insight into what admissions committees look for in prospective applicants.
Sarah has several years of experience helping college aspirants navigate the complex and challenging admissions process. Students that Sarah has coached recently have gotten into UCLA, USC, Berkeley, Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Duke, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, and Carnegie Mellon, among other top schools.
As a coach, Sarah specializes in helping students find their narratives and voice in their personal statements. She is extremely passionate about guiding students to grow and excel in their academic and career goals, which is her primary motivation as a coach.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys going on scenic hikes with her dog, enjoying a nice warm cup of coffee while completing puzzles, and watching UCLA football, basketball, and gymnastics (Go Bruins!).

She also served as a curriculum developer and coach at Outlier.org and SPICUS, building online learning experiences and delivering hundreds of hours of instructional and coaching support for both students and professionals worldwide.
Sasha’s passion for college admissions coaching stems from her belief that the application process marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of self-discovery. As a first-generation college student, she values the transformative power of reflection and voice. She guides students in identifying what they value, who they are, and the story they want to tell, helping them uncover strengths they may not have previously recognized. She believes that this process, when supported with care, instills confidence, resilience, and clarity that sets students up for long-term success.
As a coach, Sasha’s greatest strength is her ability to see the whole student. Drawing on her leadership at Johns Hopkins CTY, where she evaluated both academic readiness and emotional fit, she approaches every student with empathy and insight. She helps students thrive, not just succeed, by connecting their short-term goals with their long-term aspirations. Sasha brings strong writing and editing skills that help students craft authentic, distinctive, and memorable essays. Whether guiding a student to describe coffee roasting as alchemy that transforms human moods or helping another map personal growth through Taekwondo belts, she helps them express their stories in ways that admissions officers remember—and that they feel proud of.
Sasha’s coaching approach means that she thinks in terms of organic ecosystems, rather than isolated systems. She encourages students to see admissions not as an end point, but as a launchpad—aligning their applications with who they are and where they want to go. Her coaching is both strategic and empathetic, equipping students with soft skills, self-awareness, and the confidence to navigate high-stakes academic environments. This balance of empathy, holistic evaluation, narrative expertise, and future-oriented vision defines her as a coach.
Sasha approaches coaching as a partnership between her, students, and families. Her goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to explore who they are and to grow in confidence as they prepare for their applications.
Outside of her coaching work, Sasha is an award-winning educator, speculative fiction writer, musician, career coach, tutor, and legal writing advisor. Duke University - Bachelor's
Saumya graduated from Duke University, where she received the AB Duke scholarship. She has over a decade of tutoring experience, mostly focused on the ACT and SAT. Saumya taught her first math class when she was 14 years old and has been tutoring ever since.
