Randee is an awesome tutor who genuinely cares about your success. She took the time to review mathematics topics I was struggling with more than other SAT content. My tutoring plan included all SAT topics but took extra care to address areas where I struggled with most.

Enrolling in Quad Education’s test prep coaching service was one of the best decisions my parents and I made in the SAT prep process. Although I thought I had a good foundation in most SAT concepts, time management and test anxiety were huge issues for me. My tutor’s calm personality and helpful advice helped me focus on what was in front of me and keep my head in the game. We couldn’t be happier with my final score!

I knew that getting into the Ivy League would require excellence in all aspects of my application. While I could have applied without my SAT scores, I wanted to show admissions committees I was ready for anything that came my way in college. Quad Education’s 40-hour program took my score from good to amazing and helped me feel more confident about my application!

Final Score: 1570
I’ve moved around a lot for my parents’ jobs in the last few years, and I tried really hard to keep up with gaps in my education throughout high school. However, moving states and school districts so often meant there were a lot of building blocks missing when we came to Quad Education. My tutor was really understanding about my situation and helped me get a handle on core subjects in math and English, and I’m really happy about my 200-point SAT score increase.

A big thank you to Zina for helping me improve my SAT score! She had great tips to help me get better at time management. Practice math questions used to send me in circles, but the methods she went over helped me solve problems quicker. The assignments she gave me were really helpful.

Initial Score: 1410
Final Score: 1530
My tutor was passionate about helping me determine where I went wrong with questions after multiple practice tests. I’d always just sort of moved on from things whenever I didn’t do as well as I’d hoped, but I really attribute her helping me understand my mistakes to my massive score increase. Quad Education’s program helped me feel much more competitive at top schools!
Daria V.

Issac’s tutoring was efficient and eye-opening. Things I had struggled with for a lot of my high school career felt clearer with the Quad’s one-on-one support. Anyone like me who just needed a bit more time and effort would benefit from this program!
Youssef O.
Scored 1520 on the SAT after working with Quad Education!
Initial Score: 1390
Final Score: 1520
While my math skills have always been awesome, getting through the Writing and Language section was difficult and frustrating for me. I never found any of the answers intuitive, and I told my tutor about my concerns. He really listened, and we spent a lot of my prep time going through English concepts I didn’t understand (and many I feel like I wasn’t taught in high school). Thanks for your help!

Scored 1560 on the SAT after working with Quad Education!
Initial Score: 1460

My parents and I began searching for a tutoring service after how disheartened I was by my first SAT attempt. The tactics Eric shared with me helped me work out math problems that didn’t feel obvious to me. Thank you, Quad Education!
Landon F.
Scored 1500 on the SAT after working with Quad Education!
Initial Score: 1280
Final Score: 1500
I came to Quad Education feeling lost. Budgeting time is one of my biggest weaknesses, and I tended to stick to one question for way too long, even when I was practicing. I like that Quad Education gave me a lot of practice materials and guidance. My tutor developed a helpful framework for me to know when to move on from a question, but I ended up getting to answers so quickly now that I rarely used it on the actual test.
Darlene N.
Scored 1500 on the SAT after working with Quad Education!

I liked Quad’s style of teaching. Claudia was friendly and made it really easy for me and my parents to put our trust in her. I’m happy we did, and I can’t believe I scored so high on the SAT!

The practice questions my tutor gave me were super important to drive home the topics we’d talk about in our weekly meetings. I’m happy that Quad Education was willing to give me some last-minute prep before I took the test; it paid off!

The tutor reviews multiple questions with the student, asks targeted questions to inspire her to think critically and build reasoning skills, helps her break down what the question is focused on, and provides instruction on determining the correct answer. The SAT prep session concludes with the tutor sending a follow-up recap email detailing what was covered and instructions for the next assignment.

FAQ's

Are Quad's standardized test coaching packages right for me?

Our one-on-one services are fantastic option for test-takers seeking targeted prep highly personalized to their needs. This prep style ensures you center on tackling improvement areas, such as navigating specific questions, or more general test-taking skills, such as effectively managing your time.

Some students may only use our services to prepare them for test day. Other students may supplement what they learn in our program with other methods, such as virtual courses or studying independently. Set up a call with us to determine which methods work best for you!

Can I ask to work with a particular SAT tutor?

If there’s someone in particular you’d like to work with, you can definitely tell us when you schedule a call with us! However, please be advised that some of our tutors can be booked months ahead, meaning that we can’t guarantee you’ll be able to work with your requested SAT expert.

How does Quad Education find my best-fit SAT prep expert?

The information you input during your intake and diagnostic test help us determine your best-fit tutor. The diagnostic helps us assess which SAT sections you find the most difficult. We always speak with all students we work with to ensure your results depict your concerns and preparedness level.

From there, we partner you with a tutor that aligns with your improvement areas. Some tutors are SAT Math experts, while others may be experts at helping you manage your time efficiently. Your tutor is an expert and understands precisely how to help you maximize your score.

What does my online SAT tutoring package look like? How much guidance will I need?

What’s covered in your SAT prep program is personalized to each candidate. To better format your plan, we’ll speak with you about whether you plan to supplement your learning with other prep methods.

Each of our programs is customized to fit each individual’s needs. Your prep could center on particular SAT sections like Writing or Language, or we can spend more time honing your general test-taking skills.  Schedule a call with us today to learn how we can tailor your program!

When and where does the exam coaching take place?

Our services are virtual. You and your tutor will figure out a convenient time to connect. Most students meet their tutors once a week, but sometimes they may also meet multiple times depending on where they are in the SAT preparation process. We like to give you enough time between two sessions to complete your assignments and revisions and absorb what you and your tutor discussed.

We also offer online SAT tutoring in NYC.

I’m ready to begin SAT tutoring with you; what’s next?

Our first step is always learning more about you. We love to learn more about your aspirations, wants, and needs. Set up a call with us so we can determine how to maximize your SAT score!

How is the digital SAT different from the old exam format?

The new digital SAT is now administered online via an app from the College Board, and paper-and-pencil tests have been phased out (unless a student needs a physical copy as an accommodation).

There are many other differences between the digital SAT and the old format:

  • The new SAT is two hours and 14 minutes long, compared to the old version’s two hours and 55 minutes.
  • The new SAT uses adaptive testing to alter each second module’s difficulty depending on your performance in the first of each section.
  • The old SAT’s three sections were Reading, Writing, and Math. The new SAT has two sections: Reading and Writing and Math.
  • The older format has more questions than the newer version: 150 versus 98.
  • You will receive your test score within days after you complete your test with the digital SAT, compared to two to three weeks with the older version.

Students will need to familiarize themselves with differences in the digital SAT’s content and delivery to maximize their scores.

How important are SAT scores in the college admissions process?

SAT scores help institutions evaluate candidates’ college readiness and academic potential. Your SAT score is assessed with other factors such as your GPA, application, personal statement, essays, extracurriculars, and recommendation letters to paint a comprehensive picture of your candidacy.

Each college has different policies on how heavily SAT scores are weighed during admissions decisions. For example, test-optional schools allow students to apply with or without sharing their scores. Some schools may not consider scores at all!

However, there are some top schools (including MIT and Dartmouth) where SAT scores are required. No matter where you’re applying, a high SAT score bolsters your application and shows colleges you’re ready for rigorous coursework.

Why is it important to take SAT practice tests?

SAT practice tests are crucial to your prep process. First, completing an initial SAT practice test before you study helps you identify and determine your baseline and target scores. Your performance can also flag improvement areas you can focus on more during the prep process.

As you work through your SAT study plan, taking regular SAT practice tests helps you gauge your progress, review and apply the material you’ve learned, and help you feel more confident to maximize your score on test day. Your performance on these tests can also help you determine whether you’re SAT-ready!
