A well-told, authentic story can be incredibly powerful. Beyond grades and test scores, what often sets an applicant apart is their ability to reflect on their experiences with clarity, depth, and purpose. It’s crucial for students to present a cohesive narrative—one where academic interests, extracurricular involvement, and personal insights align to tell a clear story of who they are and what they hope to contribute to a college community. Every part of the application, including essays, letters of recommendation, and extracurricular activities, works together to create a full picture of the student.

Sarah’s direct admissions experience comes from working at her alma mater, Pomona College. As a liberal arts college student, she studied many disciplines, but focused on Politics, Anthropology, History, Economics, French, and Art.
Sarah was a Sponsor in the Pomona sponsor program, studied abroad in Tanzania, and was a leader in the Challah for Hunger club. She also worked in the admissions office, interviewing prospective applicants.
Sarah enjoyed meeting high schoolers interested in Pomona so much that she returned years later, after a few years of working in the international development space. When she worked in admissions, Sarah was a liaison with several athletics coaches, visited high schools in CA, CO, CT, ME, NC, NH, NY, SC, VT, and worked with several college access programs for first generation college students.
Sarah read applications from students all over the world and advocated for applicants in highly selective decision committees. Since leaving her role at Pomona, Sarah has worked in an education management non-profit and received her MBA from the Yale School of Management. At Quad Education, she uses her familiarity with the selection process to work with individuals and groups of high school students, offering guidance and support through their college application experience.
Originally from NC, Sarah is an (often disappointed) Carolina Panthers fan and lover of good food. She fills her free time with runs, hikes, crosswords, and travel.

Sarah has a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA. Additionally, she has also served as an admissions reader for UCLA. Through her time reading application documents, she learned that every student is unique and has a story to tell. This experience also gave her insight into what admissions committees look for in prospective applicants.
Sarah has several years of experience helping college aspirants navigate the complex and challenging admissions process. Students that Sarah has coached recently have gotten into UCLA, USC, Berkeley, Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Duke, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, and Carnegie Mellon, among other top schools.
