Julia has earned a Bachelor's degree from Brown University. Julia loves helping students feel more comfortable and confident throughout the college application process. She remembers how daunting and stressful this time was for her as a student, so she is eager to give other students the tools to navigate this process successfully. Julia believes every student has a unique story to tell, so she loves helping students find their voice and explain their passions through their applications. She finds it very exciting when a student gets into their dream school, and all their hard work pays off.
Julia encourages Quad applicants to take the time to think about what they want from a college; just because a college is number one on a prestigious list doesn't mean it is the right fit for them. It takes a lot of research and reflection to determine which school is a great fit for you and your goals.
As a coach, Julia prides herself on being friendly and approachable, and through thoughtful discussions, she helps students clarify their goals. Her empathetic nature and involvement in conversations with students help them feel comfortable being open about their experiences, concerns, and questions. After getting to know a student, Julia helps them draw connections between their experiences and passions and turn those connections into thoughtful and impactful essays. She helps students engage more deeply with their experiences and tap into their emotions so they can tell an authentic and reflective story through their personal statements.
One of Julia's greatest strengths as a coach is helping students overcome writer's block to draft essays that they are proud of. She also excels at breaking the application process into manageable steps and communicating instructions at every stage.
Applicants that Julia has recently coached have gotten accepted into several top-tier schools, including Brown University, Dartmouth College, and NYU.
In her spare time, Julia loves to go on hiking and camping trips (her favorite spot is Acadia National Park in Maine.) She also loves to bake and is always trying out new recipes. She plays tennis several times a week in central park and enjoys acting, improv classes, and theater around NYC.
Julia's Pro Tip?

Junior holds a Master’s degree from New York University. He has nearly 20 years of coaching experience and has supported 1,000+ students through their journeys to higher education. Junior served on the Asia Pacific Leadership Program admissions committee at the University of Hawaii, helping review graduate-level applications. His work included reviewing their application materials, such as the application form, the essay for joining the program, the proposal for GIST (Group Independent Study Travel), and recommendation letters. Junior’s experiences have helped him learn to look at application material objectively while using his own knowledge to gauge the applicant's potential to succeed.
Junior has also held many support and service roles which have allowed him to support students in grades six through 11 in obtaining internships, getting into STEM related-programs, applying to summer programs, and earning scholarships. Students he has coached have been accepted to top schools, including Duke University, Vanderbilt University, Pomona College, and others.
Junior is a first-generation college graduate. This means that as a high school student, he could not go to his parents for help, which negatively impacted his college application experience. His journey led him to become a college counselor, working with hundreds of students through the college application process to help ease their anxiety and ensure they had the knowledge and tools needed to make well-informed decisions about their future without getting overwhelmed. Contributing to student success and helping them build confidence makes him passionate about coaching.
Junior’s greatest power as a coach is his listening skills. Active listening requires empathy and putting one's feelings and opinions aside, allowing the coach to listen to understand—not to respond. Active listening helps him be present and facilitates mutual trust and understanding, leading to a better experience for everyone. Understanding his students' needs, fears, dreams, and aspirations allows him to focus on what's important to them, making it easier for him to help applicants accomplish their goals.
Outside of work, Junior consumes a lot of art and intellectual content. He loves listening to Afrobeats, attending Afrobeats concerts, and reading fiction, including Gabriel Garcia Marquez, James Baldwin, and Salman Rushdie. He also enjoys visiting museums and art shows and saw the Whitney Biennial 2024 and the Met's Costume Institute’s spring 2024 exhibition. Junior also loves watching independent and foreign films, running and hiking in New York's Adirondack Mountains, or traveling to places like Belize, Portugal, and the Dominican Republic.

She knows the application process intimately and how personal and taxing it is, so she aims to help other applicants work smarter and not harder!
Working in the film industry has strengthened Kadie’s love of storytelling and ability to recognize what makes a good story—one of her greatest strengths as an admissions coach. She believes that being able to tell a personal story as compellingly as possible is essential for differentiating an application from the thousands of others. From brainstorming to developing a captivating hook and maintaining reader engagement, she guides students through every step of the process. Her approach centers on cultivating a central "main idea" that highlights how their unique talents and qualities contribute significantly to their prospective class. Beyond securing college admissions, she aims to impart lifelong storytelling skills to her students. She believes these skills are invaluable for personal and professional growth. Additionally, Kadie excels at helping students identify and showcase their strengths and prepare for interviews.

She understands how incredibly time-consuming and energy-draining the application process is, so her approach as a coach is to teach strategies that maximize efficiency while optimizing results in a healthy, sustainable way. She believes the most rewarding part is when a student not only submits a strong application but also gains confidence in both the finished product and the personal growth they experience throughout the process—once the weight of the overwhelming demands has been lifted.
Having worked with a wide range of students, Katelynn possesses a deep understanding of the unique needs of each individual and the complexities of the often opaque application process. She is deeply committed to the success of every student, taking a personalized approach to each case. With a background in psychology, Katelynn prioritizes building strong relationships with students and their families, taking the time to understand their motivations and passions. This allows her to collaborate with students in crafting the most distinctive and successful application possible, while ensuring they remain true to themselves throughout the process.
Rather than focusing solely on what is typically considered “appealing” on paper, Katelynn emphasizes the importance of presenting a unique narrative. She understands that admissions committees value authenticity and personal stories that reflect the student’s genuine interests, strengths, and goals. While every admissions office has baseline criteria, each officer also brings their own set of personal preferences and red flags that may not always be predictable. Katelynn ensures that students avoid the common pitfall of trying to guess what an admissions officer “wants” to hear; instead, she helps them highlight their most authentic voice in their applications.
In her free time, Katelynn loves to travel and to write—she’s particularly keen on live music, extreme destinations, and unique culinary experiences.

As a coach, Kate excels at listening, compartmentalizing, navigating large quantities of data, and analyzing the fine points of language. Using these skills, Kate helps each student find their unique voice and present a distinctive and compelling narrative profile that uses all available application components to illustrate, animate, and validate their message.
